What is my donor membership ID?
Your membership ID does not change and is listed on your membership card (for those who choose to receive benefits). If you would like to obtain your membership ID by phone, please contact Development Office at membership@freelibrary.org or 215-567-7710.
How can I remove my name from the Foundation mailing list or e-mail list?
You may remove your name from our mailing list by sending us a letter, contacting us by phone, or sending us an e-mail (membership@freelibrary.org). Please make sure to include your full name and address as it appears on the correspondence from the Free Library Foundation.
Do you exchange my information with any other organizations or lists?
Yes, we do share our information with other nonprofit organizations. If you would prefer that we not share your information, please notify the Development Office and we will be happy to comply.
When will I receive my tax receipt?
Your tax receipt will typically arrive 4-6 weeks after your donation is made. If you have misplaced or haven’t received your receipt after this time period, please contact the Development Office for a duplicate.
How do I know that my gift was received?
Once we have processed your gift, you will be sent an acknowledgment letter, which includes tax information. This typically takes 4-6 weeks from when your donation is made. If your donation was made online, you will receive an immediate confirmation e-mail, in addition to a letter in the mail.
What is the difference between a Library card and a membership card?
Membership cards are for donors of $50 and above who choose to receive membership benefits. Membership cards may be used throughout the Philadelphia area for discounts at participating retailers. They may not be used as a substitute for a Library card, which enables card holders to check out materials from the Library and access the Free Library’s internet.
