Library of Accessible Media for Pennsylvanians

The Patron Engagement Section of the NLS is offering monthly programs called The Many Faces of BARD. These hour-long programs will occur on the second Thursday of each month at 7 pm. This program will address New Features in BARD Express, such as enhanced storage and speed settings. The program will begin with a presentation and demonstration. After the presentation, questions about the presentation or anything else relating to BARD will be taken. NLS will record this program. Join us for stories, songs and action rhymes. During this 30 minute program, families will meet new friends and develop early literacy skills. For children ages birth to five years and their caregivers.

The Advocacy & Advisory group is a group of LAMP patrons that meets on site in Pittsburgh or virtually to share ideas, provide advice and help to keep LAMP moving forward. Please register to receive a Zoom invitation.

Join us for the “Tech Walk-in Open Session,” a friendly gathering where LAMP patrons can share ideas about making technology easier for everyone to use. Library staff will be on hand to assist with technology needs and facilitate open conversation. Bring your thoughts and experiences as we chat about tools that help people with different needs. Once a month, LAMP Pittsburgh is holding a Tactile and Braille Tech Discussion Group. The participants engage in an open discussion; experience embossed, Swell Form, and 3-D-printed items; and explore their ideas and interests on the topic of tactile accessibility. Those who gather also learn about the tools and software used to produce tactile objects.
